Improve your freestyle kayaking

HHaving watched other kayakers surfing waves, playing in rapids and holes and generally having fun showing off their skills, you have learned some of these skills yourself. But you have hit a plateau! Maybe you are having trouble linking that third end in your cartwheels or you want to learn some new moves to show off in front of your paddling buddies! Are you interested in having a professional coach kick start your freestyle skills and help you fast track your learning curve?

Where?It takes place on the Inny river in Ballymahon Tarmonbarry Wave plus other rivers throughout the country depending on course location.

Group Size:

There is a Minimum group size for this of 4 people. We can cater for smaller groups but the cost per person is more expensive.

How Long?

It's a 1 or 2 day course depending on your requirements.

Here is some of the course contents:

  • We review your equipment for you and recommend and explain what else might be required
  • Edge & boat control in a holes & waves
  • How to cartwheel in a hole
  • Front loops
  • Aggressive front & back surfing techniques
  • Splitwheel cartwheels
  • How to blunt
  • River moves, Wavewheels, Macho moves, Kickflips
