Learn to Canoe this year

Our Learn to Canoe Level 2 skills courses are fully certified from the Irish Canoe Union and will teach you all you need to know to join a Canoe club and go canoeing safely.

By the end of your Learn to Canoe Level 2 course with us on the lake or canal, you will have the skills necessary to move onto one of our introduction to whitewater courses and the confidence to enjoy it!

Our Learn to Canoe Level 2 skills course contains:

• We select the right equipment for you and explain why
• Explain what everything is: Canoe, Paddle, Helmet, Cag, Spraydeck etc..
• Talk about safety on the water: Weather, Canoeing Experience, How many people is safe
• Cover the basic paddling strokes: Forwards, Backwards, Turning and Stopping
• The more advanced techniques: Brace, Pry and Draw Strokes
• Go for a little trip along the canal or around the lake
• Play some games and have lots of fun
• Learn how to fall out of your Canoe (only if you want)
