So where did we originate?

Outdoor Discovery is an adventure education company that is committed to bringing adventure sports activities to people in the midlands and surrounding areas of Ireland. It was founded in 2007 by Alex Stanley.

Alex has been running Kayaking courses around the midlands since 1993 and has worked in many adventure centres and other roles since then. Alex first tried kayaking in 1988 and has been hooked ever since.

Over this time he has tried every form of kayaking available. He has competed at international level in Canoe Polo for Ireland and Managed the Irish Canoe Polo team at the World Championships in Nagoya, Japan in 2004. For the most part though he has been instructing kayaking all over Ireland on the countries rivers and lakes.
